Congratulations to Bradley from north Yorkshire, our next grant recipient. Bradley is an aspiring conservationist, oceanographer and marine biologist and we loved his application to support his continuing diving qualifications. Inspired by David Attenborough, Bradley’s short term goals include getting involved in Project Aware (marine conservation) and longer term, becoming a Marine Biologist and conservationist. At just 14, and having already completed his PADI open water diving course, Bradley is determined to continue developing his diving skills to support his ambitions and dedicate his future to protecting the oceans and our natural environment.
Bradley is a truly remarkable young man. Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) earlier this year, Bradley has struggled with school and generally understanding the world around him. But Bradley is now home schooled and with support from family and Bradley’s own incredible determination, he has been learning Scuba Diving in pursuit of his conservation ambitions. Learning to Scuba Dive has helped Bradley’s self-esteem, independence, improved his social skills by talking to others, as well as learning how to communicate under water.
We are so pleased to be able to help support Bradley’s continuing diving adventures and hope you will join us in applauding and wishing him well with such admirable conservation ambitions. We look forward to hearing more from Bradley; an underwater #andyband will be a first!
