Cam and Bear originally began as a travel blog for adventuring couple Andy and Lucy Foster. Andy and Lucy’s passions included climbing, skiing, surfing and pretty much anything that involved adventuring outdoors. They wanted to share their adventures and experiences in the hope of inspiring others, and so Cam and Bear was created.

However their adventures together ended tragically in Yosemite in September 2017 when, returning to camp following a morning of climbing, they were caught in a freak rockfall. Andy saved Lucy’s life by shielding her from the debris but in the process lost his own.

Whilst recovering Lucy decided she could not let the adventures end and wanted to honour Andy for his incredible courage as well as remembering his infectious love of the outdoors.

Andy’s enthusiasm was inspirational and he loved nothing more than encouraging and supporting others to adventure. As a result Lucy as well as Andy’s family and friends have created the Cam and Bear Fund for Adventure.

The Cam and Bear Fund for Adventure is a charity aimed at encouraging disadvantaged young people to get outdoors and have adventures of their own. We hope to inspire young people and maybe for some, perhaps spark a life long passion for the outdoors.
